Peer Review Process
The peer reviewer process is an important part in scientific publishing, examining the quality, validity, and originality of research articles submitted. The following is an explanation of the stages of peer review at the International Business and Economics Conference (IBEC):
1. Submission
The author submits a manuscript to a journal via an online system.
2. Initial Editorial Review
The editor-in-chief or handling editor checks whether the article complies with the journal's topic, writing rules, and basic quality standards. The article can be rejected if it does not fit.
3. Reviewer Selection
The Editor invites reviewers who are experts in the same field. The expert is selected based on his abilities, history of writing articles, and the presence of conflicts of interest.
4. Review Process
Reviewers critically evaluate the manuscript for:
- Originality
- Validity of methods
- Significance of results
- Clarity and structure
- Ethical compliance
They provide detailed comments and recommendations:
- Accept
- Minor Revision
- Major Revision
- Reject
5. Editorial Decision
The editor assesses the reviewer reports and makes a decision:
- Accept as-is
- Request revisions
- Reject
In case of revisions, authors are invited to respond to reviewers’ comments and resubmit.
6. Revision & Re-Review (if applicable)
The manuscript can be returned to the initial reviewer for subsequent review. This process can go on until the script meets the required standards.
✅ 7. Final Decision & Publication
Once accepted, the manuscript is:
- Copyedited
- Typeset
- Published online
Reviewers and editors are acknowledged (sometimes anonymously).
